Grooming season
TPB Groomers uses a mix of older, newer, narrow, and drag equipment so volunteers can match the machine to the snow, the trail width, and the amount of base on the ground.
Light fleet machines
Two Yamaha Bravos give the volunteer fleet lightweight, simple machines for grooming runs and support work.
Primary coverage
Purchased in 2022 to expand grooming capacity across the wider Three Pond Barrens and Pippy Park network.
Snowpack shaping
Different drags are matched to the snowpack, trail width, and grooming conditions.
A grooming run is not just about driving a machine down a trail. Volunteers choose equipment based on base depth, fresh snowfall, trail width, and whether the goal is packing, smoothing, or reopening a line.
Machines break and pack snow when there is enough base to protect the trail surface.
Light snowmobiles help volunteers work through tight bends and tree-lined sections.
Drags smooth ruts, refresh the tread, and help leave a consistent line for winter users.
Fuel, belts, repairs, drag parts, transport, and winter maintenance are paid for through local support from people who use the trails.
